Call for Nominations and Applications for the Chief Editor of European Journal of Endocrinology
Professor Paolo Beck-Peccoz will complete his 8-year term as Chief Editor of the European Journal of Endocrinology in 2006. The Society of the European Journal of Endocrinology seeks nominations and applications for the position of Chief Editor for the European Journal of Endocrinology. The new Chief Editor will formally assume responsibility at the end of the year 2006. Applicants should be dynamic, internationally recognized endocrinologists willing to devote a significant portion of their time to Journal affairs.
European Journal of Endocrinology is the official Journal of the European Federation of Endocrine Societies, with an Impact Factor of 3.140. The Chief Editor is responsible for the content and direction of the Journal and is assisted by a Deputy Chief Editor, an Associate Editor for America and an editorial board of 14 Editors. The Chief Editor develops and manages the editorial board, and provides regular reports on Journal and editorial activities to the Society of the European Journal of Endocrinology, of which he/she is an ex officio member. The Chief Editor is also a member of the Executive Committee of the European Federation of Endocrine Societies and also of its proposed successor, the European Society of Endocrinology.
The applicant must submit a full CV and include the following information in no more than three single-spaced typed pages:
- A brief description of his/her qualifications.
- A short statement outlining the approach that will be taken to editing the Journal, including goals for content, target readership, acceptance criteria and editorial policy.
- A discussion of the present status of the Journal, opportunities for growth and enhancement and plans to achieve these goals.
Nominators of individuals should provide a brief description of the candidate's qualifications for the position. The Committee requires all CVs and letters of application to be submitted as PDF files to the email address below.
