DIE WIRKUNG HOHER OESTROGEN-GABEN AUF DIE AUSSCHEIDUNG VON ALDOSTERON, CORTISOL SOWIE NATRIUM UND KALIUM

G. Stark and U. Pfeifer

Following the administration of large doses of oestrogens for 18 days (2 x 100 mg oestradiol-undecylat, Progynon-Dépot »Schering« in two days) the urinary excretion of aldosterone, cortisol, sodium and potassium was estimated in 15 women.

The excretory values of the hormones and electrolytes did not exceed the normal limit (10 µg aldosterone per day as well as 20 µg cortisol per day) and showed no significant changes as compared with the pre-test period.

It is therefore unlikely that the increased production of oestrogens in pregnancy has an effect upon the excretion of aldosterone, cortisol, sodium and potassium in pregnant women.
